The Valley Radio
Reading Service is a nonprofit
agency broadcasting local news
papers and other printed material to our listeners who are blind or have vision
loss. In addition many of our listeners
are elderly. We also provide our Service
to those who are print impaired. We provide a special radio receiver using a
side band to broadcast our programming.
We service all of the
Pioneer Valley, Hampden, Hampshire and
Franklin Counties. Although most
of our listeners are in the cities we have several listeners in rural areas.
VRRS, has been servicing the needs of our listeners for over thirty years. As a nonprofit organization, we depend upon our volunteers. These sixty plus people make VRRS programming possible. We broadcast live Monday through Friday, reading the Republican and Franklin Hampshire News. We record regional publications, such as the Reminder and the Advocate, for broadcast throughout the week.
